Community Grant Volunteer (CGV)
Join The Community Fund of Darien’s outstanding team of CGVs and help us evaluate nonprofit applicants to ensure that The Community Fund is investing in the most effective local nonprofit organizations. Each year The Community Fund of Darien pools together donor contributions to exponentially expand funding for deserving nonprofits. CGVs play an important role in helping us determine where our funds can make the biggest impact.

What does a CGV do?
Join a panel of 6-8 Community Grant Volunteers.
Invest 12-20 hours in your community and participate in team meetings between March - May.
Review 3-4 grant applications.
Conduct 3-4 site visits at local nonprofits: meet with key agency representatives.
Complete an evaluation for each organization.
Present your findings and recommendations to The Community Fund’s Community Grant Committee.
Join your fellow panelists at celebratory party.
Celebrate at our annual Community Grant Awards Presentation in July 2025.
